Facilities
Suffolk’s Madrid Campus offers a close-knit community where classes thrive on interaction between professors and pupils. Centralized in a modern, 4-storey brick building are all the departments of a full-functioning American university: Admissions, International Programs, Housing, Activities, Student Accounts, Registrar, and Information Technology. University facilities include: classrooms, library, science lab, student lounge, tv lounge, 3 computer labs, multimedia room, administrative and faculty offices.
In addition, Suffolk students have full access to Universidad CEU San Pablo’s facilities right around the corner: sport facilities (basketball, tennis, soccer), cafeteria, library, cultural and extra-curricular activities.
Several housing alternatives are available and Suffolk’s Housing Department is dedicated to helping students choose the best option: Host Family, Student Residence/Dorm or Shared Apartment. All housing options are carefully inspected and approved to provide different levels of independence and involvement with local Spanish life.
Activities
Students and faculty join to create a vibrant campus life. Students enjoy an active student council; theatre, film and concert outings; as well as various social gatherings (flamenco, tapas, bullfights, horseback riding, mountain hiking) that bring together the entire academic community. Dance, wine tasting, art and photography workshops at Universidad CEU San Pablo also complement Suffolk’s activities program.
Located in the heart of Spain, Madrid is an ideal starting point for excursions to the country’s colorful cities and breathtaking countryside. A minimum of four trips per semester are offered, all designed to enhance students’ understanding of Spain’s culture, literature, history and traditions. Two trips are included in the comprehensive fee and are accompanied by Suffolk faculty offering unique insight that would not be otherwise available to the average visitor.
