Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar (VCUQatar) is the Qatar campus of the prestigious VCU School of the Arts in Richmond, Virginia, USA and the only fully accredited art and design program in the Middle East.  The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD), the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) and the Ministry of Education in Qatar accredit VCUQatar.  Established in the US in 1838 and in Qatar in 1998 Virginia Commonwealth University offers students from all over the world the opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in fashion, graphic, interior design, painting and printmaking, as well as a Master of Fine Arts degree in interdisciplinary design studies. A team of highly skilled professors provide rigorous curricula that prepare students to assume leadership roles in the professional design fields of their choice. The combination of all these elements has allowed VCUQatar to establish an enviable reputation as a university of excellence with a distinct identity.

Located in the heart of a region with an extraordinarily vibrant and diverse cultural heritage, VCUQatar plays a central role in the contemporary cultural life of Qataris and Middle Easterners.
