The establishment of Texas A&M University at Qatar (TAMUQ) brings world-renowned engineering programs to Education City and the Gulf Region. Since opening in 2003, the name "Texas A&M University at Qatar" has quickly become synonymous with engineering excellence and commitment to the local community. Building on more than 125 years of rich history from Texas A&M University, TAMUQ continues to value and emphasize the deep community roots that have always played a vital role at the main campus in College Station, Texas.

TAMUQ offers four Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, and Petroleum Engineering. TAMUQ is located in a purpose-built facility which provides classrooms and research laboratories equipped with the finest tools and technologies available, rivaling the top education and industry facilities currently operating worldwide. In 2008, TAMUQ will become the first university in Education City to offer a graduate degree and engineering research program.
