American Colleges Overseas Tours Spain

ACO representatives from seven European campuses visited a host of international secondary schools throughout Spain the week of 17th September. Activities included ACO presentations, college fairs and counselor dinners. Representatives discussed the distinctions of liberal arts studies abroad with question and answer sessions followed by one-on-one time at university tables throughout the college fairs. Students gathered materials and inquired on the various degree programs and multi-cultural opportunities with each university. Guidance Counselors and Sixth Form leaders supported the events with their participation and inquiries with each institutional representative.

Secondary schools participating included: Runnymede College, International School of Madrid, International College Spain and American School of Madrid in the Spanish capital and DGF High School (DODD school) on ROTA – U.S. military base in El Puerto de Santa Maria (CADIZ).  ACO representatives hosted a College Fair at John Mackintosh Hall in Gibraltar. Alina Choo of Suffolk University, Madrid gave interviews for Radio Gibraltar which aired on the day as well as an interview for the Gibraltar Chronicle and the local Gibraltar Broadcasting Corporation who filmed the ACO presentation. The tour ended along the coast of southern Spain at English International College and Aloha College with visitors from Almuñécar International School and Sunland International School participating.

ACO representatives were pleased to host Guidance Counselors throughout their tour for dinner in Madrid at the widely acclaimed Teatriz and again at El Carnicero II along the southern coast of Marbella.
